March 4 to 13, 2022
This year, 49 athletes (including 4 guides) represented Canada at the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing.
Although Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser were not in Beijing, they were thrilled to support Team Canada from Rideau Hall, and were watching along with Canadians across the country.
As the 2022 Winter Paralympics came to a close, the Governor General congratulated all the athletes.
The Paralympics appeal to the best in us. The dedication that is required to become a Paralympian requires nothing less than consistent effort over a lifetime. To persist through injury, setbacks, loss of motivation, and countless other hardships.
