Educational Activities at the Residence (Québec)

Looking for free educational activities in the City of Québec? The Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Québec is pleased to offer students from Grade 3 to Grade 12/Secondary V the opportunity to learn during their visit to the beautiful City of Québec.

Whether students are solving puzzles or completing missions, they will be up on their feet and engaged in fun activities! Our tour guides will take participants through the residence to learn about the historical and current roles and responsibilities of the governor general of Canada.

Our activities cover a variety of subjects featured in various provincial curricula.

Each activity requires a reservation and is free of charge.

NEW! Escape Room – Code Name: Citadelle 

Duration: 90 minutes

School levels: Secondary III to V (Quebec) or grades 9 to 12 (elsewhere in Canada)

Description: The parliamentary buildings are under siege! The Canadian State is on alert. We need your help to recover encrypted documents hidden in the Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle. These documents are essential to restoring Canadian sovereignty. Your knowledge of Canadian history, geography and culture has prepared you well for this mission. Are you ready to take on this challenge? 

On Your Excellency’s Secret Service

Duration: 60 minutes

School levels: Grade 3 to Secondary II (Quebec) or grades 3 to 9 (elsewhere in Canada)

Description: This activity is based on the famous Clue™ board game and helps students explore the State rooms of the residence in search of clues to solve a mystery. Three educational, interactive and fun missions are available, according to grade level. The suggested activities were designed to complement lessons students learn in class, in accordance with various provincial curricula.
