Launch of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Month
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, received today a bouquet of daffodils from two young cancer patients to mark the beginning of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Month. The event took place in the greenhouses at Rideau Hall.

Daffodil Month, which takes place in April, not only supports cutting-edge research, but also raises awareness about cancer prevention and the Canadian Cancer Society’s many community services. Daffodil Days are from April 1 to 5, 2009. Volunteers will be selling the yellow blooms to raise funds in the hope of eliminating cancer.
