Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Donald Hyslop's contributions to the extra-curricular activities of his school are exceptional. He has coached the junior girls' softball team for 25 years, coordinated the Great Canadian Geography Challenge for two years and supervised the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program since 1997. In addition, he has created and conducted a Gaelic choir and organized concerts and fairs. Mr. Hyslop is also an active volunteer in his community, having coached youth baseball and minor hockey for more than three decades. An active member of the Kinsmen Club for 20 years, he is highly respected by his neighbours, colleagues and students.
