Stephen Gaetz is transforming how we support the homeless in our communities.
A professor at York University and director of the Canadian Observatory on
Homelessness and the Homeless Hub, he has built connections between academics,
policy makers and non-profit organizations to ensure that evidence-based research has
a greater impact on homelessness policies and planning. His research includes the first
extensive Canadian report card on homelessness, the creation of a common language
for addressing this complex problem, and a Housing First framework for youth. He is
also president of the national charity Raising the Roof, and is a founding member of
A Way Home, a coalition to end youth homelessness.
