Born in Poland, but living in Canada since 1929, he has served the causes of labour relations and human rights at home and abroad, as Director of the Canada Branch of the International Labour Office and special adviser to its Director General. His interests have also extended to the Jewish community, hunger relief and employment opportunities for Native northerners.
