Member of the Order of Canada
Dieppe, New Brunswick
For his continued dedication to the cultural and educational development of the Acadian people, and for his leadership in the co-operative sector.
As an Acadian, I am very honoured and proud to have been appointed to the Order of Canada. All peoples, large or small, who strive to advance democratic values, values of solidarity, co-operation and compassion, are building a better world. In this sense, the Acadian and Canadian peoples are, among other things, great peoples.
The Order of Canada was created in 1967, by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to honour people whose service shapes our society, whose innovations ignite our imaginations, and whose compassion unites our communities.
