April 11, 2024

Governor General Mary Simon hosted a one-day event at Rideau Hall called The Governor General’s Symposium: Building a Safe and Respectful Digital World.

The symposium brought together individuals who have been victims of online abuse and subject-matter experts from across the country. The event raised awareness of the prevalence and impacts of online abuse, facilitated the creation of networks of resilience, and encouraged professionals from a range of disciplines to work collaboratively to develop solutions.
