“It was with great sadness that my husband Jean-Daniel Lafond and I learned that Corporal Andrew James Eykelenboom, who was serving with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), was a victim of a bomb attack in Spin Boldak, near the Pakistan border in Afghanistan.

Our thoughts are also with the Afghan civilians injured in this attack.

Across the country, Canadians recognize the harsh realities facing the families of our military personnel. With all our heart we support the family, loved ones and friends of Corporal Eykelenboom in these difficult times and share their grief. ”
