“My husband, Jean-Daniel Lafond, and I were deeply saddened to learn of the accident in Afghanistan which cost the life of Private Braun Scott Woodfield and caused serious injuries to four other soldiers. We wish to express our most sincere condolences to Private Woodfield’s family. We also wish a swift and complete recovery to those who were injured. May the friends and loved ones of these soldiers know that Canadians understand and share their sorrow during this difficult time. Our thoughts are also with the members of the Canadian Forces who continue to serve in Afghanistan.”
