Scientist and researcher Grant Pierce has studied how functional nutraceuticals like flaxseed can be used in health interventions. His research has led to novel therapeutic approaches in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. A specialist in pathophysiology and distinguished professor at the University of Manitoba, he is also the founder of and principal investigator at the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine, the first of its kind in Canada.
