25th anniversary of the entombment of the Unknown Soldier

Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser, attended a ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the entombment of Canada’s Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The Governor General laid a wreath and delivered remarks alongside representatives from the Royal Canadian Legion and other dignitaries.

The Unknown Soldier symbolizes the approximately 116 000 Canadians who gave their lives in the pursuit of peace and freedom.
