OTTAWA—On the occasion of a State visit to the Republic of Hungary, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic and the Republic of Slovenia, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will host a celebration of culture and friendship in honour of these four countries at Rideau Hall on November 18, 2008, at 4 p.m.
This event will showcase the importance of Canada’s relationship with these four countries on the eve of this important State visit.
The Governor General, the Chief of Protocol of Canada and all four ambassadors will speak during the event. The ambassadors will also each present a musical performance that represents their country. The performances will feature Stephen Hegedus and Marie-Ève Scarfone (Hungary); Andrej Stolarik, Andrea Herdová and Alena Rosochova, (Slovakia); Katerina Juraskova-Hinds and Jan Krejcar (Czech Republic); and Plamen (Slovenia).
