How to Install Zoom for Online Guided Tours of Rideau Hall

If you already have a reservation for an Online Guided Tour or you wish to reserve a space on a future tour, you must download the Zoom application onto the electronic device you will be using for the tour.  If you need help, please refer to the instructions below. Instructions

On a PC

  1. Go to https://zoom.us/download.
  2. Find the heading “Zoom Client for Meetings.”
  3. Below the heading, click the “Download” button. ZoomInstaller.exe will begin downloading onto your computer.
  4. When the download has finished, open your computer’s File Explorer and navigate to your “Downloads” folder.
  5. Find ZoomInstaller.exe and double-click it. If a warning pops up, click “Yes.”
  6. The Zoom program will now install on your device.
  7. 10 minutes before the start of your tour, open the reminder email sent to you by Visitor Services and click on the link provided to connect to the tour.

On a Mac

  1. Go to https://zoom.us/download.
  2. Find the heading “Zoom Client for Meetings.”
  3. Below the heading, click the “Download” button. Zoom.pkg will begin downloading onto your computer.
  4. When the download has finished, open your computer’s file browser and navigate to your “Downloads” folder.
  5. Find Zoom.pkg and double-click it.
  6. When the Zoom Installer opens, click “Continue.”
  7. Select “Install for me only,” then click “Continue.”
  8. Click “Install.”
  9. The Zoom program will now install on your device.
  10. 10 minutes before the start of your tour, open the reminder email sent to you by Visitor Services and click on the link provided to connect to the tour.

On an Apple mobile device (iPhone, iPad)

  1. Navigate to the App Store on your device.
  2. Select the “Search” option and type in “Zoom Cloud Meetings.”
  3. Tap the Zoom Cloud Meetings app.
  4. In the upper-right corner of the screen, tap GET. Then, tap INSTALL. You may need to sign in to your App Store account to complete the installation.
  5. The Zoom application will now install on your device.
  6. 10 minutes before the start of your tour, open the reminder email sent to you by Visitor Services and click on the link provided to connect to the tour.

On an Android mobile device (most other phones and tablets)

  1. Navigate to the Google Play Store on your device.
  2. In the search bar at the top of the page, type in “Zoom Cloud Meetings.”
  3. Click the “Install” button.
  4. The Zoom application will now install on your device.
  5. Ten minutes before the start of your tour, open the reminder e-mail sent to you by Visitor Services and click on the link provided to connect to the tour.
