“Canada is a country filled with people who are proud of who they are, of their accomplishments, history, uniqueness, spirit of adventure and desire to surpass themselves. Every year, June 24, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, is a chance for the people of Quebec and Francophones across this country to celebrate their vibrant and proud identity in song, poetry, dance and music, renewing in their hearts a deep love. A love for a beautiful and rich culture. A love for a language that we are keeping alive in this country. A love that tells the world who we are, that honours us and for which we have every reason to be proud.
Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day is a day of fellowship. It is a day of celebration for all Canadians, extending beyond all borders. And as hearts rekindle that love and as the fireworks once again light up the night sky, it is with great joy and hope that we celebrate the fellowship of all mankind.
Happy Saint-Jean Baptiste Day!”
