OTTAWA, Ontario—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, has been released from hospital and will continue her recovery in residence as she looks forward to resuming the full scope of her duties in due course.

The Governor General is appreciative for the support of the Right Honourable Richard Wagner, P.C., Chief Justice of Canada and Deputy of the Governor General, who presided over the National Remembrance Day Ceremony and will represent her next week during the State visit of Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.

The Governor General and Mr. Whit Fraser are both deeply grateful to the hospital staff for their excellent care and thank Canadians across the country for their many kind messages and well wishes.
