OTTAWA, Ontario—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will present the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers to 61 deserving individuals during a ceremony in the ballroom at Rideau Hall.
The ceremony will be held during National Volunteer Week 2025, which runs from April 27 to May 3. Through tireless and selfless volunteerism, the recipients being recognized today have not only made their communities a better place but have also brought honour to Canada.

About the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers
The medal recognizes the exceptional volunteer achievements of Canadians from across the country in a wide range of fields and pays tribute to the dedication and commitment of volunteers. Any living person who is a Canadian citizen and who has made significant, sustained and unpaid contributions to their community in Canada or abroad is eligible.
