It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Ken Dryden. An Officer of the Order of Canada, he dedicated his life to advancing the well-being of his fellow Canadians, both on and off the ice.
He was first known for his Hall of Fame hockey career during which he was a pivotal part of the Montreal Canadiens, winning six Stanley Cups, and an important member of Team Canada during the ‘72 Summit Series. His legacy also includes his profound passion for public service, his thoughtful contributions as an author, and his tireless work as an advocate for meaningful social change.
Mr. Dryden’s quiet but powerful empathy, as well as his grace and devotion to serving others, are an inspiration. His contributions will be remembered with great respect.
On behalf of all Canadians, my husband Whit and I offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those touched by his extraordinary life and work.
