Watching you pour your heart into these Games has been truly inspiring.

Dear Canadian athletes: you are incredibly talented!

You’ve reached a pivotal moment in your journey. You’re helping to shape the future of sport in Canada.

We’ve witnessed those critical turning points, when everything could go either way—and you found that last ounce of strength, just when it mattered most.

Tonight, I want to congratulate you on your discipline and your perseverance.

Thank you for showing us what’s possible when we come together—united by purpose, and driven by excellence, team spirit and integrity.

Right now, we are witnessing the same spirit of solidarity in the courageous communities facing wildfires in Newfoundland and Labrador, and across the country.

All those who are stepping up to help—from the Canadian Armed Forces, to community volunteers, to organizations like the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, and to first responders from every province and territory—are showing a truly inspiring sense of unity and dedication to a common purpose.

To all the brave people fighting the wildfires: thank you.
