Governor General to preside over swearing-in ceremony of members of the Canadian Ministry

OTTAWA, Ontario—Members of the media are invited to Rideau Hall to cover the Swearing-In ceremony of members of the Canadian ministry. Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary May Simon, Governor General of Canada, will preside over the swearing-in.

Notes for Media:

  • The swearing-in ceremony will be followed by an official photo of the Governor General with the new Canadian ministry.
  • The ceremony will follow all public health guidelines related to COVID-19.
  • Due to current COVID-19 restrictions for indoor events, the swearing-in ceremony will be pooled for video cameras and photography. Access to the swearing-in ceremony for journalists will be limited.
  • To attend outdoor portions of this event, media must be accredited to the Parliamentary Press Gallery. Journalists who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery should contact collin.lafrance@parl.gc.ca to obtain temporary accreditation
