Governor General to honour remarkable Canadians at Rideau Hall

OTTAWA, Ontario—Members of the media are invited to Rideau Hall to cover an honours ceremony, at which Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary May Simon, Governor General of Canada, will present honours to 14 deserving Canadians.

Recipients will be recognized for their courage, excellence or exceptional dedication to service with one of the following honours: a Meritorious Service Decoration (Civil Division), a Decoration for Bravery or a Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.

Notes for media:

  • To guarantee your access to the ceremony, we ask that you please confirm your attendance with the Rideau Hall Press Office at media@gg.ca.
  • A video feed of the ceremony will be available upon request.
  • Media are asked to arrive at the Princess Anne Entrance no later than 1:45 p.m. on the day of the ceremony.
  • Photographers and videographers will be positioned inside the Tent Room, whereas journalists will be watching the event from a separate room. 
  • Please note the wearing of masks is mandatory.
  • Photos of the ceremony taken by the governor general’s official photographer will be made available following the ceremony.
  • The Rideau Hall Press Office will gladly coordinate interviews with the recipients after the ceremony.
