OTTAWA—Her Honour the Honourable Judy Foote, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, will pay a virtual visit to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. EST (3:00 p.m. NST), as part of the GGconversations series. Their discussion will focus on how Newfoundland and Labrador has handled the pandemic, the upcoming holiday season, and other topics inspired by questions from virtual viewers.

After a career in politics spanning two decades, as both a member of the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, and as a member of the Parliament of Canada, Her Honour was installed as lieutenant governor of Newfoundland and Labrador in May 2018. Prior to serving in politics, she was a teacher, a journalist with CBC’s public affairs program “Here & Now,” director of university relations at Memorial University, and director of communications for former premier Clyde Wells.
