Official Opening of Winterlude 2009

Once again, winter is acting very wintry and we are in the mood to celebrate as we launch Winterlude 2009 in Canada’s Capital Region!
Skating on the Rideau Canal, admiring the ice sculptures, going tobogganing, exploring the ski trails in Gatineau Park, trekking through the woods on snowshoe, taking a sleigh ride: these activities make winter an ode to the joy of living and being together.
This year, Winterlude is celebrating the 225th anniversary of the founding of New Brunswick, said to be the snowiest province in Eastern Canada.
As they say in Acadia, “ça va swinguer!”
The splendour of winter is all around us, and conditions are perfect for a variety of games and activities.
