“From coast to coast to coast and even around the world, federal public servants provide Canadians with essential services, resources and information and contribute to the development of economic and social policies that help to better our lives here at home as well as those of our global neighbours. Their roles and responsibilities are many and invaluable. This week is a time for all government workers to reflect on their accomplishments and renew their commitment to public service. It is also a time to look to the future with a fresh perspective while celebrating the progress made over the years. And it is an opportunity for Canadians to learn about the many services offered by their government.

In celebrating the excellence of its public servants, the Federal Public Service of Canada is celebrating the excellence of Canada itself. I invite everyone to take part in the many activities organized by the various federal agencies and departments across Canada and to share in the pride we all feel at being part of this great country of infinite possibilities.

I would like to thank all of the women and men who, day after day, serve this country with passion, dedication and skill, from the Pacific to the Atlantic, and from the southern border to the Far North. On behalf of all Canadians, I wish you a most enjoyable week of celebration and recognition.”
