Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

A talented artist and musician from Edmonton, Alberta, James Cupido's compassion has improved the living conditions of many. Over the past 40 years, Mr. Cupido has made more than 500 donations of blood and blood products to Canadian Blood Services, while successfully lobbying to have the age restrictions removed for those who give blood. He volunteers his time to the Pilgrims Hospice, and has performed many soothing bedside violin recitals for patients at hospitals throughout Edmonton. Mr. Cupido has the natural ability to connect with ill patients and to bring comfort to others.
