Following a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma 15 years ago, Evelyn Stone became determined to raise funds for The Ottawa Hospital through the Gatineau Loppet, an annual 10-kilometre cross-country ski event, and to raise awareness of her disease. She has since continued her endeavour by recruiting more volunteers; alongside them, she has raised over $275,000 for the Little Angels Blood Cancer Fund at the hospital, thereby giving back to the community in a significant way.
