As a volunteer for Communic-Action, a non-profit community organization, Evelyn Sutherland provides unwavering support and assistance to the elderly. She takes them shopping and visits them in their homes and in the hospital, staying the night if necessary to allay their fears. Famous among Meals on Wheels clients for her homemade rolls, she delivers food faithfully even on the stormiest of days. Mrs. Sutherland has raised funds for her church and for the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Huntingdon Hospital. She has also been very active at The Little Green Library for over 10 years, serving as treasurer and president. A reliable and devoted volunteer, Mrs. Sutherland can always be counted on to do the lion's share of the work involved in the endeavours she supports.
