Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For more than 40 years, Beezie Sullivan has generously and tirelessly worked for the benefit of her community. A volunteer worker for the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics for 25 years, she also visits seniors at their homes or in nursing homes, offering them company and homemade baked treats. She provides them with transportation to buy groceries and for doctors' appointments. In 1999, she opened the Gift Shop at the St. Joseph Hospital where she donates her time, seven days a week. Mrs. Sullivan is an active fundraiser for the Restigouche Health Services Foundation and works at the Lions Club bingo every week. In addition, Mrs. Sullivan is active in fundraising and helping in the preparation of an annual banquet honoring the veterans of her community.
