Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

George Cross has been active in volunteer work for more than forty years, devoting himself to a variety of community causes and organizations. His time and energy are currently directed towards seniors groups, the West Island Community Resource Centre, the Centre d'accueil Denis-Benjamin-Viger of Île Bizard, the Montréal Urban Community Police Department and a local tenants' organization. He has been involved with the provincial walk-a-thon for the Canadian Cancer Society and served in numerous roles within his church. Mr. Cross also volunteered with the local Chamber of Commerce, the Quebec Family History Society, and the Cooperative Housing Federation.
