    An active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years, George Abercrombie is a Veterans' Service Officer, was the District Poppy Chairman for twelve years, has chaired the Decoration and Remembrance Day Ceremonies, and addressed high school students on the real-life significance of the Remembrance Day observance. He also coached and umpired minor baseball and helped organize the Cayuga Figure Skating Club. A member of local service clubs and the Cayuga Senior citizens group, Mr. Abercrombie is also the organizer of the Cayuga Food Drive and was a member of the Tenant Social Committee of the Cayuga Senior Citizens Complex.
