Marion Arrowsmith dedicated herself to making life better for people with mental and physical disabilities. She was been particularly concerned with helping any child in need. She and her husband served as foster parents to seventy-five special-needs children -- children with handicaps as well as troubled teenagers. Mrs. Arrowsmith also devoted many years to raising funds for Working in Support of the Handicapped (WISH), a foundation dedicated to addressing the needs of people with disabilities on Manitoulin Island.
