Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

A dedicated student and aspiring nurse, Rebecca St. Cyr is a devoted young volunteer who has made community service a part of her daily life. She has participated in flower sales for the Community Association in Navan and is a member of the town's Beautification Committee. She has also helped to organize many local youth events. In particular, she has recruited and organized volunteer supervisors for Friday night dances, at which she has also managed the evening snack bar. Since the age of 10, she has volunteered with her parish, serving as a teacher's aide in Sunday school, in addition to assisting in the church nursery and looking after younger children during services.
