Alan Stewart is described as a mentor and a model of volunteer engagement. He sits on the boards of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, and Capital Area Recreation Inc., an innovative non-profit recreational facility on the campus of the University of Prince Edward Island. As a member of the voluntary advisory committee of PEI Inc., he is busy preparing the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference of the Fathers of Confederation-the largest provincial historical celebration in 40 years.
