Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Welly Simard does outstanding work for the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Conference of Courville. He is involved in preparing Christmas baskets and gifts for disadvantaged children. In the summer, Mr. Simard makes a point of enrolling as many children as possible for programs at the municipal playground, not to mention those he sends to the Knights of Columbus holiday camp in Saint-Ubald. In 1982, he was one of the founders of the Ouvroir de Courville whose mission is to collect and sort garments and donate them to persons in need. Mr. Simard also works as a volunteer with the Knights of Columbus council of Montmorency, the Conseil Particulier Saint?Pie X and the Place Laurier enchanted Christmas tree program.
