Philip Doddridge, a veteran of the Battle of Hong Kong, was instrumental in the creation of a museum to preserve the local military history of New Richmond, Quebec. Since the museum's inception, Mr. Doddridge has served as a member of the board of directors. He is also a founding member of the Hong Kong Veterans of Canada Association, and has long served his community through the Rotary Club, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army Cadets.
