Over the past 45 years, Renée Popov Watters has worked to expand francophone education, notably while serving on the Francophone School Board in British Columbia for 10 years. In 2014, she was recognised by the Alliance des Femmes de la Francophonie Canadienne as one of the 100 remarkable francophone women who made a difference in the last 100 years in Canada.
