Editor emeritus of The Brandon Sun, Frederick McGuinness has spent over 40 years celebrating rural western Canada through his work in publishing and broadcasting. Known to many as the "voice of the Prairies," he was frequently called upon by CBC Radio to present a western perspective on national issues and to comment on rural life. Through his long-running newspaper column "Neighbourly News," this gifted storyteller and activist was instrumental in helping isolated communities share ideas and feel a sense of connectedness.
