A visionary leader and volunteer, Piers McDonald has given a lifetime of service to Yukon. He served in the Territorial Legislature for 18 years, including a term as premier of Yukon. He was instrumental in organizing the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, which marked the first time the Canada Games were held above the 60th parallel. In addition, he spearheaded a pan-northern marketing campaign, using the Games as a catalyst for promoting all of Canada's northern regions. As chair of Northern Vision Development Corporation, he continues to actively contribute to the economic development of Canada's North.
