She has served her community steadily for three decades. As Mayor, she oversaw the creation of a recreation and aquatic centre, an industrial park, crucial infrastructure projects and the revitalization of Castlegar's commercial centre. Also active in many municipal government associations, she served on the executives of both the Union of British Columbia Municipalities and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. In addition, the Castlegar Library, Selkirk College, British Columbia's Police Commission and Press Council have all benefited from her insight and dedication.
