A respected businessman and former advisor to two Prime Ministers, he is a champion of the arts, education and health care. Co-founder of the W.O. Mitchell Prize, he has also been a benefactor to numerous university students and young artists. In addition, he has shared his business acumen with the Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific, and in Toronto with several small theatre companies and the Hospital for Sick Children. While serving on the Hospital board, he was a key player in creating a Chair in Pediatric Psychiatry.
