She was a pioneer in athletics, teaching physical education to Canadian women, in the 1930s. She later served as Director of Women's Physical Education at the University of Western Ontario and established athletic programs with the YWCA and other associations. Since retirement, she has devoted herself to the community, raising funds for the health care sector and encouraging a generation of competitive skiers through the Ski-in-School program she founded.
