He has spent the greater part of his life attending to the needs of his community. An active supporter of charities for children with disabilities in the greater Vancouver area and a director of fundraising campaigns for the University of British Columbia, he has given his time and energy to many organizations and has provided free legal services to the less-fortunate. In addition, he has served on the Board at St. Vincent's Hospital for more than thirty years.
