He has worked devotedly for the francophones of Newfoundland and Labrador for more than 30 years. A founding member of his province's Fédération des francophones, he has been one of the principal promoters of French. As a professional, he worked to develop an education system in French and in French as a second language. He has also shown exceptional dedication to the development of the Acadian culture. Through his determination and actions, he has enhanced the pride of his fellow Acadians. In addition, he has worked for the economic growth of his region through his involvement with the Port Economic Development Association.
