The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Univeristé Laval for several years, he often represented the institution in numerous organizations and paved the way for the establishment of the University Medical Centre in Quebec City. His commitment to university medical cooperation has prompted several foreign universities to seek his assistance in evaluating medical programs. Countries such as China, Senegal and France have given him prestigious awards, recognizing his dedication on the Commission des doyens des facultés de médecine francophones.
