From war-torn Bosnia and Afghanistan to the streets of Canada's inner cities, she has introduced to Canadians stories of injustice and suffering as well as celebrations of victories of the human spirit. Her social activism extends beyond her professional responsibilities as a magazine editor to the community, where she is a director of Willow, a breast cancer resource and support centre, and the Canadian Association for Community Living.
