Her sustained generosity to arts and culture is legendary. She has supported numerous individuals and groups through a conscious decision to finance the imagination and creativity of artists. Her patronage of the Canadian arts community, particularly during times of decreased funding, has in turn strengthened the national character and inspired others to contribute to the arts sector. Evidence of her ongoing philanthropy is her recent creation and funding of Survivors in Search of a Voice, a travelling exhibit of commissioned works by women artists to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer. This is a promotion within the Order.

This Torontonian has devoted herself to the service of the arts. She has taken an active interest in many cultural organizations and institutions such as the Young People's Theatre, the Canadian Conference of the Arts and the Canadian Crafts Council, serving on the executive and giving considerable financial support to these causes. Many a struggling artist or artists' guild has reason to be grateful for her financing and for her wise and helpful counsel.
