Now a retired Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice, he has distinguished himself in the law, in politics, as a historian, and as a soldier throughout a career spanning more than fifty years. His heraldic expertise and the high regard in which he is held, were important factors leading to the adoption of the maple leaf as the symbol for our country's flag.
