Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and head of a research group studying the autonomic nervous system, he is probably one of the most highly respected specialists in neurological sciences in Canada. In view of his leading role in basic research on hypertension, he is frequently invited to colloquia, seminars and scientific congresses in Europe and the United States. A member of the editorial boards of various scientific journals, he has also written a substantial number of articles. He has had an enormous influence on the scientific community in Quebec and across Canada.
