- Invested on: February 26, 1997
He has worked as an actor, writer and director for television and film, but it is his presence on radio and television for almost five decades that has made him a household name across the country. He also taught for ten years as an Adjunct Professor of Theatre and Film at York University, where he was recently named a Fellow of its Winter's College, and dedicates much of his free time to voluntary and philanthropic endeavours. The Canadian Cancer Society, Big Brothers, B'nai Brith, and centre for maternal and fetal medicine in a Jerusalem hospital, are among the many organizations that have benefited from his commitment.
