Canada's first medallist in the Olympic decathlon in Seoul, he has been recognized as one of the world's best athletes. Recently retired from athletics, he is working to heighten public awareness through educating parents, athletes, teachers and coaches with respect to issues of fair play as an "Ambassador of the Commission for Fair Play".
